Who is responsible for your data
Sahil Priyadarshi, trading as CFS Global, based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, operates CFS News and is the data controller responsible for your personal data. Paddle.com acts as the Merchant of Record for our paid subscriptions and is a separate data controller for the payment data it collects from you.
What we collect and why
- Name and email — to create your account, authenticate you and send the newsletter or briefing. Legal basis: contract performance and, for marketing, consent.
- Login credentials — to verify your identity and secure your account. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Support messages — to respond to your queries and keep a record of the conversation. Legal basis: contract performance and legitimate interests.
- Usage and telemetry — to understand which sections are read and improve the site. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Device identifiers and IP address — for security, fraud prevention and rate limiting. Legal basis: legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- Professional profile details — only when you submit them for the Professionals directory, and only shown to others when you have consented. Legal basis: consent.
Payment data
Payment card and transaction details are collected and processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record. CFS News does not receive or store your full card number.
Who we share data with
We share personal data with: our hosting and analytics providers (service providers); Paddle, as Merchant of Record, for payments, subscription management, tax compliance and invoicing; professional advisers where needed; and authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Your data may be processed outside your country, including on cloud hosting infrastructure located abroad. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions, in line with applicable law.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. A free newsletter subscriber who unsubscribes is removed from mailing lists. Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted or anonymised when no longer needed, unless law requires longer retention.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, port or object to the processing of your data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise any right, contact the desk. We respond within one month.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and rate limiting, to protect your data. No method is completely secure, but we work to keep the risk low.
Cookies
The site uses essential cookies for authentication and analytics cookies to understand readership. You can manage preferences in your browser. We do not use cookies to sell your data.
